Project-Specific RECs

Organizations can connect their green power commitments to specific renewable energy projects using Project-Specific Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs).

Many organizations want to match their electricity use with RECs representing renewable energy generated at a specific project.

For a premium, 3Degrees’ Project-Specific RECs allow these organizations to customize their green power commitment and demonstrate their support for specific facilities.

Project-Specific REC purchases usually provide rights to the use of video and photography of these projects. This enables organizations to show a direct link between their green power commitment and the renewable energy generated at particular facilities.

All of 3Degrees' Green-e Energy Certified Project-Specific RECs:

  • Have been third-party verified by Green-e® Energy to meet their rigorous environmental and consumer protection standards.
  • Represent the environmental benefits of renewable energy generated from projects that have gone online on or after January 1, 1999.
  • Can be used to secure LEED® green power credits and for participation in the EPA’s Green Power Partnership program.
