Regional Green Power RECs
Support renewable energy projects in specific regions of the United States and Canada
Encourage Regional Green Power Development
Many North American organizations are taking responsibility for the environmental impact of their energy use with Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs). Purchasing RECs allows them to ensure that the electricity they secure from the power grid is matched with electricity generated from renewable resources.
However, some of these organizations want to take their green power commitments a step further, and match their electricity use with electricity generated by renewable energy projects located in the South, Midwest, West or other specific regions of the United States and Canada.
3Degrees’ Regional Green Power RECs allow these organizations to match their electricity with renewable energy generated in their region of the country. This directs additional revenue to regional green power projects, fostering regional renewable energy economic development.
3Degrees’ Regional Green Power RECs:
- Are sourced from specific regions of the United States and Canada, including the Great Lakes, Midwest, Rocky Mountains, Gulf Coast, and West
- Are third-party verified and audited by Green-e® Energy to meet their rigorous environmental and consumer protection standards
- Represent the environmental benefits of renewable energy generated by projects that have gone online on or after January 1, 1999
- Are delivered with an attestation that names the specific projects from which the RECs were sourced
