GREEN-E ENERGY CERTIFIED®

Green-e® Energy is a voluntary certification program that sets consumer protection and environmental standards for renewable electricity products. It is the most stringent and widely used voluntary Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) certification and verification program in the U.S. with more than a 60% market share of all voluntary renewable energy sold through the end of 2006. In 2006 Green-e Energy certified nearly 10 million MWh of renewable energy. It also verifies that Green-e Energy Certified products meet certain quality standards and offer incremental environmental benefits.

3Degrees is a leading provider of Renewable Energy Certificates that have been certified by the Green-e Energy Certification program managed by the non-profit Center for Resource Solutions.

Green-e does for the renewable energy market what the USDA Organic food label does for the organic food market. When you see the Green-e Energy logo you know the product is subject to a robust audit each year that accounts for every last megawatt hour of Renewable Energy Certificates sold, who sold it, who purchased it, where that energy was generated until there is no doubt where they came from and who owns them. Green-e Energy certification protects consumers from fraud and double counting, thus building customer confidence in purchases. Such a protocol of auditing and monitoring is resource intensive, and Green-e charges a fee for its services to resellers. 3Degrees enthusiastically supports Green-e in its role of providing assurance to renewable energy buyers and the public.
