3Degrees Opens Office in St. Louis, Missouri
Historic Building Is Now Home to AmerenUE PurePower™
St. Louis, MO., April 4, 2008—3Degrees is pleased to announce that it has opened a St. Louis office to develop and manage AmerenUE’s PurePower™ voluntary green energy program. The office will be located in the Ventana Luxury Lofts at 1641 Washington Avenue.
“Moving into the Ventana was a no-brainer for us,” says Cindy Bambini of 3Degrees, which has its headquarters in San Francisco, Calif. “We specifically looked for properties in the City of St. Louis that had historical value, were near our core customer base, and were renovated using the most up-to-date environmental features.”
The building developer, Jacob Development Group, is an early adopter of Pure Power and utilizes green building technologies in its developments. Specifically, the 3Degrees St. Louis office building has the following environmental features:
- Loop Mechanical System—A complete building shared resource allows excess heating or cooling from one unit to be recovered and reused by another unit, making the system inherently more efficient than many other options.
- GEM Electric Car—Jacob Development Group is providing an electric car for Ventana residents to utilize in downtown errands and in the downtown area.
- Empowerment Zone—The development revitalizes an abandoned commercial building in a low-income area, making it a socially positive investment.
- Transportation—The building is located within eight blocks of three Metro Link stations. It also supports the Downtown We car program, is located on bus routes, and features bicycle racks promoting alternate uses of travel.
- Full Recycling Program—Thanks to the new St. Louis Recycling Program, residents do not have to separate their recycling, making the program even more successful.
3Degrees celebrated the opening of its new office on Tuesday, April 8th. In addition to tours of the building and a “wind-powered” performance by the Equinox Chamber Players, the public was invited to enjoy appetizers from the First Pure Powered Restaurant, Harvest, and drinks from Pure Power Leader Schlafly Beer and Pure Power Supporter, Sugar Creek Wines.
AmerenUE’s Pure Power program, launched in October 2007, allows the company’s Missouri customers to support the development of wind power and other forms of renewable energy in Missouri and the Midwest through the purchase of certified renewable energy certificates (RECs). The program is Green-e® Energy Certified by The Center for Resource Solutions (CRS), a national nonprofit organization that works to build a robust renewable energy market and increase consumer confidence in renewables.
Residential customers participate by having 100 percent of their power offset by RECs. Commercial and Industrial customers purchase “blocks” of Pure Power, with each block representing 1,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity.
Customers who want to sign up for Pure Power can do so by visiting the Pure Power Web site www.ameren.com/purepower, checking the Pure Power box on their AmerenUE bill, or by calling 1-866-665-PURE (7873) .
