Before forming 3Degrees, Dan co-founded the Utility Partnership and Renewable Energy Certificates division of 3 Phases Energy in 2002 and served as its general manager for five years. In addition, Dan has managed 3Degrees’ successful expansion into the carbon markets and the development of 3Degrees' Environmental Market Services group, which helps renewable energy and greenhouse gas emission reduction project owners bring their RECs and carbon offsets to market, encouraging the development of similar projects.

Dan directly advises many of 3Degrees’ partners on renewable energy and carbon balancing strategy, particularly in respect to corporate sustainability. Under his leadership, the U.S. Department of Energy has recognized 3Degrees with its Non-Utility Green Power Supplier of the Year award five times.
